Why did you start the Hudson Food Walk?
When our friends and family visit Hudson they often comment of how they feel like they are on vacation. For years, we have loved inviting them to Hudson with its thriving downtown and unique culinary scene. The Hudson Food Walk gives people an opportunity to taste their way through the downtown area and learn about the city’s rich history.
Where does the tour begin and how long is the Hudson Food Walk?
The Hudson Food Walk begins outside the Winzer Stube (516 2nd St.). This first stop is located in the historic “Opera House” building. Look for the Winzer Stube sign, German flag and green awnings on the east side of 2nd St. (between Locust & Walnut St.). We will meet outside, however if weather is poor, we will meet inside the front door. Tours take place rain or shine. Please dress comfortably for the weather. The total distance walked is approximately 1/2 mile along mostly flat terrain, although there are some small inclines and declines on the sidewalks on the route. Guests are encouraged to come early and stay late and enjoy the many boutique shops, restaurants and bars in Hudson.
Is there time for shopping?
There are many unique shops along the Hudson Food Walk. Your tour guide will take time to mention these shops along the way, but there is limited time during the tour. However, we encourage you to come back and visit the shops after your tour or on another visit to Hudson.
